The Saga of the North
Instructions and Layout
It is possible (and fairly easy) to style the text by paragraph and to add character styling. I have included only the most often used styles below.
Paragraph and Header Styling
You can style the text using the below tags at the beginning of a paragraph. A paragraph is always ended using a complete blank line. If no blank line is inserted, the paragraph continues with only a line break, leading to e.g. very long headers etc. Also without a blank line prior to a paragraph, the paragraph styling will not be parsed correctly.
||Highest level of header in a journal. Underlined|
||Second level of header inside a journal.|
||Third level of header inside a journal.|
||Fourth level of header inside a journal.|
||denotes the start of a paragraph. In most cases superfluous.|

Specific character formatting can be applied to characters, words and (part of) sentences by using the same symbol at the start and end of the formatted text:
This text is *strong*, _italic_, +underlined+ and -struck out-.

Special markup and conventions
The below are special cases that have specific formatting to highlight specific types of text.
Spoken words is inserted in text using single quotes and emphasis. (Double quotes can cause conflicts in specific layout cases….)
The next line is spoken. _'Let's do this'_, he said.
The next line is spoken. ’Let’s do this’, he said.
Wouldn’t it be cool if you can insert your characters thoughts and comments on specific events in a journal? Well, you can! Read below on how to do this.
To insert thoughts, you need to add some specific syntax to the start of a paragraph. Add the below to the start of the paragraph, where charname is replaced with the name of your character. Keep in mind this works for one paragraph only.
- Gamemaster → #gm
- Aliara → #aliara
- Nimotalai → #nimo
- Trisha → #trisha
- Zeke → #zeke

Select Dungeon World Character Sheet for player characters. Add your information within the preformatted character sheet and leave the separate description and bio sections empty.
Do not select a DST character sheet for NPC’s. You can use the regular description and biography fields here.

Thoughts: Do I want a standard header to always be included?
